Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
We’ll start your adventure by picking you up from your hotel. Once you’ve met our guide and chef, we’ll head off to Tarangire National Park, which is about a 2-hour drive away. This park is famous for its diverse landscape, including the iconic Ancient Baobab trees, and it’s known for having the largest concentration of elephants in the whole country. You’ll have the chance to observe these magnificent animals and witness the interaction between elephant families.
During our game drive through the park, we’ll keep an eye out for various animals, especially predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards, although they can be tricky to spot. We’ll also see plenty of herbivores like giraffes, wildebeest, and zebras.
After our exploration, we’ll head to the Tarangire River picnic site for lunch, where we can enjoy a scenic view of the river and the animals. Don’t be surprised if small monkeys and baboons try to join us – they’re just curious!
Once we’ve had our fill, we’ll continue our game drive until around 4:30 pm, when we’ll exit the park. After the tour, we’ll head to our accommodation in Mto Wa Mbu, where we’ll set up camp for the night.

During our journey, we’ll make a brief stop at the gate and viewpoint of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to take in the breathtaking view of the crater, a truly awe-inspiring sight.
Additionally, we have the option to visit a Maasai village during our stop. This visit is entirely optional but provides a unique opportunity to explore the culture of the Maasai tribe. You’ll learn about their traditional practices, such as lion hunting, which was once considered a rite of passage for warriors. While some of these customs, like drinking raw animal blood, are no longer practiced, you’ll still gain valuable insights into their way of life.
After our stop, we’ll continue our journey towards Serengeti, ready for the adventures that await us in this iconic national park.

As we explore, we’ll be treated to the breathtaking sight of the morning sun rising over the Serengeti plains. While the mornings can be a bit chilly, especially in the open safari vehicle, don’t worry – just remember to bundle up in warm clothes.
We’ll continue our game drive until mid-day, soaking in the sights and sounds of the Serengeti wilderness. Then, it’s back to camp for a hearty breakfast and lunch to refuel for the rest of the day’s adventures.

During our tour, we’ll have the chance to spot a variety of wildlife, including the elusive rhinoceros if we’re lucky. The crater is home to many permanent resident animals, as it boasts a consistent water source throughout the year. This makes it an ideal habitat, and many animals prefer to stay within the crater.
After our tour, we’ll ascend back up to the crater rim for lunch, enjoying the incredible views once more. Then, we’ll head back to camp, where we’ll pack up our belongings.
Finally, we’ll drive to Mto Wa Mbu for dinner and an overnight stay, concluding our unforgettable Tanzania Safari adventure.
