Day 2 Arusha to Tarangire National Park.

In the morning, our safari guide will pick you up from your lodgings in Arusha, and we’ll begin our journey to Tarangire National Park. As we travel along the smooth tarmac road, you’ll be treated to scenic views of the Maasai plains, dotted with acacia trees and bustling with Maasai people going about their daily activities.

Tarangire National Park is renowned for its large herds of elephants and diverse wildlife. From the open roof of our modern safari jeep, we’ll traverse the park’s landscapes, including seasonal swamps, savannas, and the life-giving Tarangire River. Keep your eyes peeled for a wide array of creatures, including zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, and giraffe. With luck, we may even spot lions on the prowl or leopards lounging in the trees above.

After an exhilarating game drive, we’ll head to Suricate Boma Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Here, you can relax and unwind after a day filled with adventure and wildlife encounters, ready to continue our safari journey the next day.

Day 3 South Serengeti (Ndutu)

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, we’ll embark on a journey to the breathtaking Lake Ndutu region, nestled within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and part of the southern Serengeti ecosystem. The scenic drive, which lasts approximately 3 hours, will take us across the picturesque landscape of the Rift Valley, offering glimpses of the stunning Lake Ndutu, renowned for its alkaline waters and abundant wildlife.

Upon arrival, we’ll satisfy our appetites and then set out for an exhilarating game drive in the Ndutu region. During this time of year, from December to April, the majority of the wildebeest migration can typically be found grazing on the short-grass plains. Keep your camera ready as we navigate through this wildlife-rich area, where thrilling encounters with a variety of species await.

After an immersive late afternoon game drive, we’ll make our way to Ang’ata Ndutu, our accommodation for the night. Here, amidst the tranquility of the African wilderness, we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and settle in for a restful overnight stay, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Serengeti.

Day 4 South Serengeti (Ndutu)

After indulging in a hearty breakfast, we’ll set out for an exhilarating full-day game drive in the Ndutu region. Our goal is to explore the diverse range of habitats found here, including swamps, woodlands, soda lakes, and the renowned Serengeti short grass plains. Prepare to witness the awe-inspiring sight of the vast herds of wildebeest and zebra that populate this area.

During a brief period around January, lasting approximately three weeks, the majority of wildebeest calves are born, with around half a million young being brought into the world in a remarkable display of synchronized birthing. Despite the open expanse of the grasslands, these resilient calves are able to run within minutes of birth, and within just three days, they are typically strong enough to keep pace with the herd.

As our day unfolds amidst the endless plains of the Serengeti, we’ll soak in the breathtaking scenery and observe the fascinating wildlife that calls this region home. After a full day of adventure, we’ll return to Ang’ata Ndutu for a delicious dinner and a restful overnight stay, surrounded by the beauty and tranquility of the African wilderness.

Day 5 Ndutu to Ngorongoro Crater

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, we’ll depart from Southern Serengeti (Ndutu) and make our way to the iconic Ngorongoro Crater.

As the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater comes into view, it’s like stepping into a forgotten world. Enclosed by towering volcanic walls, this pristine wilderness boasts sweeping savannahs, pockets of acacia woodland, and shimmering lakes and swamps. The Crater’s formation dates back two to three million years, when a massive volcano erupted and collapsed upon itself.

Descending into the Crater is an adventure in itself, offering breathtaking views and a sense of awe at the natural wonders that await below. Once on the Crater floor, you’ll be surrounded by a diverse array of wildlife, including large herds of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and over 500 species of birds. Keep your eyes peeled for the elusive black rhino, as the Crater provides one of the best opportunities to spot this endangered species in its natural habitat.

After a full afternoon of exploration within the Crater, we’ll begin our journey back to Arusha, reflecting on the unforgettable experiences and cherished memories we’ve made amidst the beauty of Ngorongoro.
